Loving Life

Asha has taken to running around the yard, bouncing for joy. She will circle around the pond, trees, Luke and I a real pleasure to watch.
Yesterday she showed us how clever she is and how good her nose works by opening a cup board that dog treats were kept in. Maybe she needs to become a police dog.
House training is going well, let her out of her crate in the morning and she goes right out to do her business. She still has a few accidents in the house but considering her history, doing very well.
She is very willing to let me pet her when we are on the couch, even laying her head on my hand for more attention. But when we are on our feet, she will run away looking nervous or as if she is having fun to giving me the run around.
She is a pleasure to foster

Loving It

Asha has decided to join us on the couch. She jumped up right beside our dog Luke and myself this morning then later on with my husband. She is very comfy there, letting us rub her all over. Funny girl is still keeping her distance when I walk around the room, not interested in having me touch her then at all.

a voice!

Asha has discovered a voice. She barked this am. to be let out of the crate. Then she found it worked so good she barked and howled when I left her in the house while putting out the recycling.
Way to go Asha

Wow

Asha stayed still so Harley could pet her ears and back! Harley was petting our boy Luke, she went in real close, then backed away, then into the front of her Xpen near by. When he reached out to pet her she stayed right there and rested her head into his hand. It went on for at least a minute, so exciting.
Asha loves to watch our dog Luke, finds it exciting when he chases toys, will then race around in excitement to join in on the fun. She also loves following me, prancing around me in circles waiting to see what will be next. She has so much curiosity, it is a pleasure to watch her learn about the world.
Hard to believe it was only 10 days ago that I had to crawl into the crate and put a noose around the poor baby's neck. She sure has come a long way in such a short time.

Asha went down the steps today, with a smelly treat guiding her way. Hurray! I no longer need to corner her and carry her down the stairs. Asha is looking for treats from my hands now, but still backing away from my touching her. Amazing how much she has improved in 1 short week.

playing

Asha has started looking for activities, putting her feet on the coffee table sniffing around, pulling off books, grabbing at news papers LOL she was easy to redirect but she was not quite sure what to do with a rubber toy. She became very excited while watching our dog play fetch out side, she even picked up a tossed ball a few times when I threw it for her.
This clever little girl is beginning to recognize her name.  She steps right up for a treat when her name is called.
She is going to be quite a hand full once she gets comfortable with being near people. A family with dog experience and willing to work with her puppy ways would be ideal.

Hoarder Bust

Asha was rescued from a Hoarding situation spending her first year with 100 other dogs living in a barn. The HS took her in with 6 of her brothers and sisters but after a few months, Asha continued to be the scared little girl they rescued. They contacted a few rescues and Loyal was able to offer her a spot.
As you can see form her pictures she was pretty matted. The groomer took 4 hours to get through to the beautiful girl beneath. Asha made a very good impression by staying still and not showing any aggression what so ever! Surprisingly under all the hair, Asha had beautiful healthy skin and ears.
Asha no longer  hides her face in the corner of her crate when we look at her. She has begun to smell and take treats from our hands. She does not like to let me touch her but wants to keep her eye on what I'm doing even following me in and out of the house.
We are very pleased with the progress Asha has made, and feel certain that she will be a great pet for a lucky family
